How to use the worksheet

Narrow the list with three filters: style (romantic, family, luxury, value, diving, wellness or lively), price tier and transfer type (speedboat, seaplane, or domestic flight plus speedboat). Then tick up to three resorts.

The comparison table fills in as you tick. Rows cover atoll, transfer from Male, transfer time, villa types, adults only, kids club, meal plans, price tier, best for, considerations and a link to the official website.

The page address updates with your picks, so "Copy link" shares the exact comparison. "Download CSV" gives a spreadsheet and "Print" gives a paper copy. For the bigger choice between staying on a resort or a local island, try the resort or local island quiz first.

Where the data comes from, and how it is flagged

Each resort record was researched on 11 October 2026 from official resort sites, transfer operators and travel listings. The file covers 56 resorts across the main atolls.

Every record lists the fields we have not yet confirmed from an official source. The worksheet reads that list and handles each cell in one of three ways:

This matters most for villa types, meal plans and child policies, which resorts change between seasons. Transfer rules are steadier: seaplanes fly in daylight only, and you need to land in Male by about 15:30 to connect the same day. The flight arrival and transfer planner checks this for your flight.

Worked example 1: three resorts near Male for a short trip

A couple with four nights wants a short speedboat transfer. They filter by "Speedboat" and tick Bandos Maldives, Baros Maldives and Centara Mirage Lagoon Maldives.

The table shows all three in North Male Atoll with transfers of about 15, 25 and 40 to 45 minutes. Bandos is mid-range, Centara Mirage Lagoon upscale and Baros luxury. Bandos and Centara list a kids club; Baros does not.

Centara Mirage Lagoon shows all inclusive as its meal plan. Bandos and Baros show "Check with resort" for meal plans, so that becomes the first question for each.

Worked example 2: a family weighing a seaplane resort

A family compares Bandos Maldives with Kuredu Island Resort & Spa. Kuredu is in Lhaviyani Atoll, reached by seaplane in about 35 minutes or by domestic flight plus speedboat.

The table makes the trade-off clear: a 15-minute boat against a seaplane with a daylight cut-off. Kuredu shows a long list of villa types, from garden bungalows to a two-bedroom beach villa and a pool villa family suite, which suits larger families. Our file also notes that the Sangu villas are for guests 15 and over and the O Resort villas for 12 and over.

With a Batik Air evening arrival, Kuredu would mean a first night in Hulhumale. Bandos would not. For child policies and occupancy, the family resort room eligibility checker lists the questions to ask.

Who it suits, and what to do next
