Maldives honeymoon total cost breakdown for Malaysian couples

A Maldives honeymoon costs a Malaysian couple about RM15,000 to RM17,000 on a published package with flights and a few extras, and RM35,000 or more for a custom five-star water-villa stay. The difference lies in the villa, the transfer and the extras you add.

What do three typical honeymoons cost per couple?

The table costs three real-world styles for two people, flights from KLIA included. The first two use published Malaysian packages, and the third is a custom build.

Sources and basis, all checked 11 to 12 Oct 2026, at RM4.09 per USD:

• Twin-island: HolidayGoGoGo package at RM5,499 per person for 1 Nov to 20 Dec 2026. That is 2 nights at a Maafushi hotel and 2 nights in an adults-only overwater villa.
• Private-island: Brennia Kottefaru package at RM5,499 per person for Nov to 23 Dec 2026, with seaplane and all-inclusive meals. Flights carry a bag allowance for the seaplane.
• Custom build: a USD 950 water villa × 1.287 × 4 nights, plus a USD 620 seaplane per person. The spa and photo lines use the low end of the Holiday.com.mv bands (USD 400 each).

Which lines do honeymooners underestimate?

Flights come first, because packages almost never include them. Two return seats from KLIA added RM3,000 to RM4,200 in our examples.

Then come the extras that make a honeymoon feel special. A couple's spa session runs about USD 400 to 650, a half-day photo shoot USD 400 to 1,200, and a specialty dinner USD 80 to 180 per person, per Holiday.com.mv.

How is a honeymoon package priced?

Most Malaysian honeymoon packages are priced per person with a minimum of two. A RM5,499 headline means about RM11,000 for the couple before flights.

Read the inclusions closely. The two packages above include transfers, meals, taxes and Green Tax, but exclude flights, festive surcharges and insurance. A package that leaves out Green Tax or the transfer can look cheaper while costing more.

Check the validity dates as well. Several 2026 packages expire on 31 October or in late December, and festive dates are often priced separately.

Where can a couple save without losing the experience?

The most effective saving is to split the stay. Two or three beach-villa nights plus one or two water-villa nights keeps the overwater moment at a lower total.

Other options that work:

• Choose a speedboat resort, saving roughly RM3,300 to RM6,700 per couple against a shared seaplane.
• Travel in May to November, when rates tend to soften.
• Pick full board if neither of you drinks alcohol.
