What do luxury villas cost per night?

Benchmarks from a Maldives cost guide checked on 11 Oct 2026 give these room-only ranges for two adults, before taxes, meals and transfers.

These are market brackets, not quotes. The same guide lists pool water villas at USD 1,500 to 3,000, so the category name alone does not set the price.

Worked example: from website rate to nightly total

Take a water villa advertised at USD 1,000 per night, room only, for two adults.

1. Service charge 10%: USD 1,000 x 1.10 = USD 1,100.
2. Tourism GST 17% on that: USD 1,100 x 1.17 = USD 1,287.
3. Green Tax: 2 guests x USD 12 = USD 24.
4. Total per night before meals: USD 1,311, about RM5,362 at RM4.09.

What should go in a luxury brief?
