Guesthouse rates are often shown before tax. A 10% service charge and 17% Tourism GST together add about 28.7% to the room rate.

Questions travellers ask

Is Dharavandhoo more expensive than Maafushi?
Rooms are in a similar band, but the transfer is the difference. A return domestic flight at the reported USD 85 to 135 each way costs far more than a short shared speedboat to a Kaafu island. On a 4-night stay that adds roughly RM 1,400 to RM 2,200 for two people, so Dharavandhoo makes most sense when mantas are the goal.
Do guesthouse rates include breakfast?
Many local guesthouses include breakfast, and some sell half board or full board. Listing sites show this inconsistently, so check the meal plan on the exact rate you book. Ask whether lunch and dinner are served in-house, since a full-board rate removes most day-to-day cash spending.
Is the Hanifaru fee included in excursion prices?
Not always. Some operators include the per-person Hanifaru visitor fee in the trip price and others add it on. When you compare quotes, ask whether the fee, the licensed guide and snorkel gear are all included, and what happens if the trip is cancelled because of weather.
Can I pay by card on Dharavandhoo?
