What kinds of places are there?

Hithadhoo has small guesthouses and a few small hotels, with no resort on the island. Visit Maldives counts one hotel, 16 guesthouses and 3 resorts across Addu City.

Guesthouses there sell bed and breakfast, half board and full board packages, according to Visit Maldives. Some properties, like The Rose Garden House, sell room only with breakfast extra.

aMaldives gives 2026 estimates for The Rose Garden House, room only, for two adults. They are from USD 74 per night for a Deluxe Double in May to October and from USD 90 in November to April.

Family Rooms run from USD 95 to 115 on the same basis. Breakfast is about USD 8 per adult and USD 4 per child, and Green Tax of USD 6 per person per night is extra.

How to shortlist

Use this checklist before you pay a deposit.

• Registration: ask for Ministry of Tourism registration, since immigration expects a registered property.
• Taxes: ask whether 10% service charge, 17% GST and Green Tax are in the quote.
• Airport pick-up: ask the price from Gan airport and whether the driver tracks your flight.
• Meals: room only, breakfast, half board or full board.
• Bikes: free bicycles make the causeway easy to explore.
• Location: near the Nature Park in the north, or nearer the causeway to Gan.
• Rooms: family rooms, extra beds, air conditioning and hot water.

Couples on a budget do well in a small guesthouse with breakfast. Families should look for family rooms and a garden.

Divers may prefer guesthouses on Feydhoo or Maradhoo listed by Discover Addu, closer to dive centres and Gan. Older travellers benefit from Hithadhoo's hospitals and shops nearby.

When to choose a resort instead

If you want a pool villa, a bar or lagoon swimming in swimwear, compare the Addu resorts. Visit Maldives lists three resorts in Addu City.

Paying and confirming
